Good comparison in that they definitely had solid, if unspectacular careers on the whole, with - exactly two each - shining moments when the pressure was highest and the lights were brightest, which definitely counts for something.
The difference between their otherwise solid-but-unspectacular overall careers, I think, is that Kirk's was due to injuries (he had phenomenal all-around skills when healthy), whereas Eli's just
was what it was. (Not a knock on either, just pointing it out.)
