July 2025 Update:
Record: 46-56, 3rd (8.5 GB)

Injuries and trades ravaged the Classics' roster, and the team's record suffered after the All Star game as a result. Out of players currently active, 2B Manny Batres probably had the best month, but he only put up a .798 OPS. Adan Corella's hot streak seems to be over for the time being, as he hit just .255/.298/.286 in July after a great June.

The bullpen has also been in flux for Columbus, as multiple players were called up during the month. Lefty Mike Roberts probably had the most success, allowing just 1 earned run in his first 2.2 innings. Stephon Russell also came up and did well at the back of the rotation, pitching to a 2.50 ERA in 3 starts.

Injury Report:
RF Ben Grates suffered a sprained knee, and he will likely miss the entire month of August. Grates was having a breakout season after making his first All-Star appearance, and now the Classics will have to look elsewhere for offense. OF Myeong-hwan Park has been called up, and Ron Goldman has shifted to the outfield. David Hinjosa and Tony Palacios are splitting time at shortsop, but neither has done much to claim a full-time starting spot.

The injuries continued, as DH Myles Fenty will miss a month with a strained groin. As a result of this injury, 3B Chris Rathert has been called up, and he has done well as a DH and third baseman.

RP Curt Koonts hit the IL with a sore back, but he should return to the bullpen soon. Steve Steen was recalled after putting up great numbers in AAA, but he was rocked for 6 runs in the final game of the month.

Transactions:
Lefty reliever Jeremy Townsend was traded to San Antonio for minor league SP Edgar Almaraz. Almaraz is 28, and although he has struggled this year, he put up a solid 4.13 ERA in 32 starts last season with the Scorpions.

RP Dylan Daniels was traded to the Bobcats in exchange for a package of 3 minor leaguers. Most notably, Columbus acquired 25-year old SP Juan Dominguez, who has a 3.45 ERA and 105 strikeouts in AAA this year.

Around the League:
-The Owls traded 1B Pat Weaver to Austin for a group of 3 minor leaguers. Weaver hit .237 with Memphis on the year, smacking 14 home runs.
-Foxes SP Alexis Fregoso no-hit the Waves, leading his team to a 4-0 victory. Fregoso has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year, recording a 1.55 ERA and striking out 178 batters.
-Explorers SP Ji Hsu shut out the Scouts, striking out 8 and allowing just 3 hits. Hsu has a 2.31 ERA to go with his 12-2 record in 2025.
-Bobcats 2B Goffredo Dichio put up a 20-game hitting streak, increasing his batting average to .259 on the year.
-Salukis CF Joe Devine went 5-5 against the Vandals. The former 15th overall pick is hitting .253 with 9 home runs on the season.
-The Vandals traded RP Carlos Miranda (4.14 ERA) and a prospect to the Gamblers for RF Tommy Halbert (.245/.348/.428, 8 HR).
