This is a textbook example of random talent change. Socrates Brito is a hopeless player in real life (although he has an awesome name), so I doubt the initial scouting was wrong.

When it happens to you, it's nice. I always have player development budget as the highest in the league so I see it every few years. Had Tyler Skaggs turn into an ace pitcher overnight, and Logan Warmoth turn into an elite 2B.
