They are 12th (last) in fewest runs allowed with 4.74 per game (Portland is #1 with 3.13).

Top of the First:

Paul Blaine swings at a 3-1 pitch and fouls out to 1st. John Haynes walks. Jim Rier grounds into a force at 2nd, 5-4. Mark Fenik doubles to left and Rier stops at 3rd. Randy Hobson grounds a hit to center and both runners score... 2 to 0, Seattle. I would not have minded an intentional walk right there. We seem so liberal in handing them out except when I want them.... Hobson steals 2nd. Terry Singer lines a hit to center and Hobson scores... 3 to 0, Seattle. Bob Dillon lines a hit to left. Okay, Christy, okay! We get the Bullpen up. You happy, now? Oscar Reynoso swings at a 3-2 pitch and grounds out to the pitcher.

Bottom of the First:

Paul Bouvet walks on 4 pitches. He had a rough August (.212), but has really come on in September (.231)... Larry Sinchak grounds out to 1st, unassisted, and Bouvet goes to 2nd. Sinchak is 0 for September... 13 AB. Bouvet steals 3rd. Jeff Schottler swings at a 3-1 pitch and lines a hit to left and Bouvet scores. 3 to 1, Seattle. Since the first of August, Schottler is hitting .322. True, it is mostly singles (1 HR), but a lot better than he was doing early in the season when he hit .181 in April and May. Jeff Austin flies out to left. 2 outs. Woody Griesbach gets beaned. Tony Casarez doubles to left and Schottler scores! 3 to 2, Seattle. Phil Parker flies out to left.

Bottom of the Second:

With 2 outs, Paul Bouvet homers to left to tie the game at 3!! Snodgrass strikes out everyone else in the inning...

Top of the Third:
Mark Fenik leads off with a double to right. He is now 7 for 14 against P Frank Martin with a HR and at least 2 doubles, because he has hit two today.... Randy Hobson grounds out to 3rd. Terry Singer strikes out! Bob Dillon grounds out to short!

Top of the Fourth:
With 1 out, P Tom Snodgrass doubles to center. Paul Blaine doubles to right and Snodgrass scores... 4 to 3, Seattle. Yes, Christy... The Bullpen is up. That is 4 doubles already allowed and 7 hits... John Haynes and Jim Rier both fly out, though.

Meanwhile, P Tom Snodgrass has retired 10 in a row after Bouvet's home run....

Bottom of the Seventh:
After Phil Parker strikes out, Dave Lesley reaches on an error by 3B Terry Singer. PH Eddie Thomas (26-R) doubles to left, Lesley stopping at 3rd. Paul Bouvet is NOT walked as I thought he would be! He lines a hit to center and both runners score!!! 5 to 4, Beavers! That sends P Tom Snodgrass to the showers. New Pitcher: Danny Gilmore (29-R) with a 1.70 ERA in 74 IP. PH Bob Draper (23-L) is sent up for Larry Sinchak. Bouvet steals 2nd. Draper swings at a 3-2 pitch and grounds out to 2nd and Bouvet goes to 3rd. 2 outs. Jeff Schottler grounds out to 3rd.

Top of the Eighth:
New Pitcher: Don Schmidt (27-R). Eddie Thomas stays in to play short and Omar Flores goes in to play 3rd. Terry Singer flares a hit to right... PH Pedro de Jesus (26-L), who ALWAYS seems to get a hit when he pinch-hits, grounds a hit to left... Oscar Reynoso bunts the runners up. PH Miguel Favela (30-R) flies out to center and Singer tags up and heads home, but Jeff Schottler throws him out!!!!

Top of the Ninth:

Bullpen arms are ready... Top of their order. Paul Blaine strikes out! John Haynes strikes out looking!! Jim Rier lines a 1-2 pitch to right and Woody Griesbach runs it down and THIS Ball Game Belongs to the Beavers!!!
