After a leadoff single in the top of the ninth, Bob Howry took the mound for the White Sox.
In the bottom of the ninth, with a runner on second and one out, Ryan Franklin took the mound for the Mariners. Valentin tied the game with an RBI single. Wilson threw Valentin out trying to steal second to send the game into extra-innings.

In the top of the ninth, Keith Foulke took the mound for the White Sox. Martinez hit a two-run homer to put the Mariners back in the lead.
In the bottom of the tenth, Ordonez tied the game with a two-out, two-run double but was thrown out trying to turn it into a triple.
Antonio Osuna took the mound for the White Sox in the top of the twelfth. Suzuki hit a solo home run to put the Mariners in the lead once again.
In the bottom of the twelfth, Paul Abbott took the mound for the Mariners. After walking the leadoff batter, Abbott struck out the side to end the game.
The two teams combined for 25 hits in the contest.
