C Dennis Webb was put on the 15 day Disabled List last night and P Lonny Tomski (28-R) was recalled from Vancouver (AAA) to start tomorrow's game for the ailing Frank Martin. After the game, Tomski will be sent back to Vancouver and C Dave Benya will be recalled.

Wilson, Ragin' Cajun, was acquired from Kansas City in a trade in February. He pitched the whole season at Omaha (AAA) last year and went 12-7 with a 2.72 ERA. He has two years of Major League service time. In his first start, he went 8 innings, allowed 2 runs, 9 hits, 1 walk and struck out 2.
This will be Hagans first Major League start. Keep your fingers crossed. He looked very good in Spring Training, but has not pitched in almost 2 weeks.

Dale Ainsworth lines a 1-2 pitch to center for a hit. Gary Long flies out to right. Perry Templet grounds into a force at 2nd, 6-4. Randy James reaches on a throwing error by 3B Mike Fahy. Jeff Austin swings at a 3-1 pitch and grounds out to 2nd.

With 1 out, Dale Ainsworth and Gary Long both single and we have runners at 1st and 3rd. Perry Templet lines one to left and David Shropshire makes a great catch, but Ainsworth tags up and scores. 3 to 0, Beavers. 2 outs. Randy James doubles to center. Full count to Jeff Austin and he takes ball 4 to load the bases for Jeff Schottler. He strikes out....

We had 10 hits and made no errors
San Diego had 6 hits (2 in the 9th plus a walk) and made 2 errors
Brian Hagans (W 1-0) went 8.2 innings, allowed 1 run, 6 hits, 1 walk and struck out 7, a new team season high. At bat, he had 2 hits with a double and scored a run. I think we found a permanent member of our rotation!
LHP Jamie Cleveland (SV 2) faced 1 batter and retired him
Morgan Wilson (L 1-1) went 7 innings, gave us 3 runs, 8 hits, 1 home run, 3 walks and struck out 4.
RF Dale Ainsworth had 2 hits and scored a run. 2B Gary Long had 2 hits and an RBI. 3B Randy James hit a double and his first home run of the season and drew a walk. C Phil Parker, in his first start of the year, hit a double.
