Walkers news: Sept. 16 -- Madison 9, St. Louis 6, 13 innings
Madison's Pat Valalika had an RBI single off St.Louis reliever Shawn Carlie and Brandon Nimmo drove in two more with another single, as the Muskies scored three times in the top of the 13th inning to hand the St. Louis River Walkers a 9-6 loss at home.
The victory completed a three-game sweep for Madison, which won all three games in extra innings.The Muskies won the opener 3-2 in 11 innings and the second game 3-2 in 12.
The win also capped an extraordinary series for Madison shortstop Francisco Lindor, who in the three games was 7 for 16 with four runs scored, seven RBIs and four home runs. Lindor hit two homers in both the second and third games.
Despite the loss, Cardinals center fielder Lorenzo Cain was 5 for 6 in the game, with a homer, two runs scored and two RBIs.
