How does it feel to win the World Series?

"It's strange. Weird," is the way the Washington manager put it. "Like it was supposed to happen. Whenever something did happen, it didn't surprise us. We truly believed we would win."

Today at Polo Grounds III, Washington completed its magical run to the World Series title with a 8-2 triumph over the New York Giants. It was the 1st time they have won it all. In the regular season, Washington notched a 85-55 mark and took first place in the American League standings.

And how does it feel to lose the World Series?

"Your heart is heavy and your stomach is empty," is the way the dejected New York skipper described it. "It's the lowest of lows when you lose ... and the highest of highs when you win."
