Would love to be able to pull players from a specific range years so if for argument sake you picked a start year of 1980-81 I can ask the game to import players from 1950-1995. I would also like to have the ability to import a player into the draft if I choose as well as being able to move the draft date. Currently if I choose 80-81 I won't see a player who retired prior to that year.
I assume the Historical structure editing in Jeff's post would apply to random debut.
I don't know if there are many other RD players but it is my favorite mode so anything I can do make it more a custom experience is welcome, assuming its a doable and I am not in the minority.
