RP Jennings Sims (29-R), who did not throw a pitch for the Beavers, and RP Mike Wagner (30-R) have been sent back to Vancouver (A). RP Jeff Gleason (25-R) and RP David Fuentes (25-R) have been recalled. Neither gave up a run in their exile to Canada.

We are back home to face Sacramento in two games. They split 4 games at home with Houston over the weekend. We are 4-1 against them on the season. This is their first trip to Portland. The Solons are 9th in scoring with 3.94 runs per game (Portland is still last, but edging up with 3.57). We are averaging 5.13 in June (8 G). Sacramento is 6th in fewest runs allowed with 3.85 per game (Portland is 8th with 3.98). Their run differential is +5 and ours is -26 (+10 in June).

Sacramento Solons (30-32 .484 11.5 GB in 6th place in the PCL West) at
Portland Beavers (27-36 .429 15 GB in 7th place in the PCL West)

SAC: Juan Sanchez (27-R 5-5 3.32) vs. POR: Steve Muir (27-R 5-4 2.03) Gold Glove

We beat Sanchez the one time he has started against us this season, but only scored 3 runs in 8 IP.

Muir pitched a 6 hit shutout in his last start.

We are 6-22 at home, by far the worst home record in Baseball, The 2nd worst in the PCL is Seattle, who is 14-18. We are 21-14 on the road and only Kansas City and San Francisco, the two PCL division leaders, are better in all of Baseball.
