Clipped from The Pittsburgh Sentinel - February 1899....Jack Johnson's methodical dismantling of Fireman Jim Flynn is observed at ringside by Jim Jeffries after which Jeff pens an article that is carried by every major paper in North America...."...It was obvious from the opening round Flynn had no chance to defeat this fellow Johnson, and those behind the promotion of this debacle were only in it to sell the kinetoscope moving pictures to what they hope is a gullible public. A rematch with me will not sell because I will dispose of Johnson in quick order..."....The big Californian challenged the champion from ringside but only engendered a golden-tooth smile from "Li'l Artha"....Here at Turner's Hall Buffalo's Jim Fitzpatrick (194) knocked out Texas Bob Thompson (191) in four rounds setting up a meeting with the 'Georgia Thunderbolt' CC Smith who defeated Jim "Moose" Jeffords the other evening....
