Walkers news: June 2 -- St. Louis 1, Kansas City 0

Record: 24-32, 5th, 6 GB Des Moines
Pinch-hitter Jean Carmona doubled with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to drive in Jared Thomas with the game's lone run as St. Louis downed Kansas City 1-0 in 10 inning at Busch Stadium (1997).
With the victory, the River Walkers salvaged the final game of the three-game series after dropping the first two.
Gonzalez was hit by a Kyle Nelson pitch to open the bottom of the 10th.
Pit Masters starting pitcher Kyle Wright had worked nine scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out five and walking one.
A single from Jared Thomas off Nelson moved Gonzalez to second.
Christian Arroyo attempted to get down a bunt, only to have Gonzalez be thrown out at third.
But Carmona drove the second pitch he saw over the right-fielder's head, allowing Thomas to score the only run of the game.
Walkers starting pitcher Argenis Batista didn't allow a run either in six innings. He allowed six hits with nine strikes outs and a pair of walks.
Nick Lodolo worked two scoreless innings of relief and Phil Maton handled five outs.
John Curtiss (3-1) got the final out of the 10th, but it was enough to earn him the win.
