Well as others said, do both for now.
Myself, I would do a combination of both using what I like in both. In your case, maybe 2 leagues with 6 or 8 teams each and using 2013 as a basis. That way you could have your home runs, World Series, all star game, and small enough to enough to monitor all the players.
