Season starts on May 6 and ends on September 19. Games only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, except for September 7 (Labor Day). Wednesday games start at 3:00, Saturday and Labor Day games start at 1:00. No double-headers.
This was a Class-D league, probably semi-pro. Memorial Day and Independence Day fell on Saturdays in 1896, so there are no special holiday dates for those games. The scanned copy of the
Sporting News in which this schedule appears is in pretty bad shape, but the format of the league made spotting and correcting errors fairly easy.
