Curt Simmons - 1949
Curt Simmons is the only survivor of the NL Champion 1950 Philadelphia Phillies team other than Bob Miller. The Phillies uni he is wearing in the photo was the team's uniform in the late 1940s before they went to the now familiar red pinstripes look in 1950. The Phillies wear an alternate look uniform that is worn by Phillies players on certain day games based on the 1947 to 1949 model worn by Simmons above
The hard throwing lefty was a WORKHORSE who pitched just under 3350 innings in his career on his way to a 193-183 record.
