Walkers news: May 29 -- St. Louis 6, Madison 0

Record: 30-15, 1st, 3.5 GA Springfield
Derek Gordon made his Mississippi Baseball League debut an impressive one going eight shutout innings in a 6-0 win over Madison at Comiskey Park (1969).
An off-season free-agent signing out of the minor leagues, he had been trapped on a AA team with no MLB affiliate, Gordon had just been called to the majors from AAA Memphis.
Against the Muskies, he worked eight innings allowing just two hits while striking out three and walking one.
A Johan Camargo solo homer off Logan Gilbert in the top of the swecond would provide the River Walkers with the only run they would need.
But they did add five more.
Tanner Kohlhepp belted a solo shot in the third inning.
St. Louis scored three times in the sixth.
Camargo had a two-run double off reliever Dan Hammer, and Edmond Americaan earned an RBI after coaxing a bases-loaded walk.
Andrew Benintendi unleashed the long ball as a pinch-hitter against Jorge Guzman to lead off the ninth.
Jake Brentz worked the ninth after Gordon exited with a pitch count of 105.
