I'm an original GM (34 seasons) of the SBC.
A few comments about the SBC...
-It is well run by a knowledgeable commish who doesn't field a team and who looks after the league in complete detail.
-There are skilled and talented GM's who are competitive AND friendly
-The culture of fair play and good sportsmanship are hallmarks of the league
