I agree. I don't think the guy had any other point than "more offense".
And then there's this quote (emphasis mine):

I'm totally for the pitcher batting for many reasons. It might make parts of the game "more boring", but
that's baseball. Baseball is sometimes boring. Besides, I'd rather the pitcher strike out in a big spot than watch a guy who gets paid $10M a year just to hit in big spots strike out in the same situation. At least the pitcher is going to be doing something until his spot in the lineup comes up again.
