FBL Spotlight - Philippe Hamon

One of the benefits to the Inbox of OOTP is getting tidbits of information about the league. Who weighs the most, who's been injured, and who is making the most money.

From the latter category came the prompt for Philippe Hamon, 38 year old infielder for the Quebec Snake Eyes. Hamon's $230,000 yearly salary is tied for 3rd in the league with Saint Michel's Gerald Ferry. A 4 time GG award winner, 3 time Platinum Stick winner, 1965 World Series winner, and the 1966 MVP Award winner Philippe has earned his acclaim. Tack on hitting for the cycle in 1964 and his resume looks even deeper.

With his baseball skills seemingly in decline Hamon has been relegated to the 3rd string at the second base position. Essentially, it means he makes a few pinch hitting appearances while starting just 2 games all season.

The locally and nationally very popular player is yet to speak out on his current role but it's known that he is angry about it. His career 62.1 WAR certainly puts him in the running for HOF induction.

It will be interesting to see what Hamon will do the final 2/3 of the season for the current first place Snake Eyes. Will there be an injury that offers up more playing time? Will he get a quality AB in the post-season? All questions to be answered in what is surely the final season of a very good player who helped put the FBL on the map.
