Walkers news: June 17 -- St. Louis 3, Des Moines 2

Record: 35-32, 3rd (tied/w. Des Moines), 2 GB Springfield and Cedar Rapids
Aaron Nola allowed one run over eight innings and Ender Inciarte broke open a scoreless game with a two-run double in the fifth to lead St. Louis to a 3-2 win over Des Moines at LaBatt Park.
Nola allowed five hits in his time on the mound while striking out eight and walking none.
The only run he allowed came on a John Lehto two-out double in the seventh.

It made the score 3-1, after the River Walkers had gone up 3-0 on a solo homer from Michael Conforto off Harvesters starting pitcher Jose Berrios in the sixth.
Des Moines got something going in the ninth against the St. Louis bullpen.
Jake Diekman opened the inning and allowed a lead-off double to Rafael Devers before a strike out of Cody Bellinger.
Reyes Moranto took over and allowed a single to Austin Hayes, which put runners at the corners.
The next batter, A.J. Pollack, doubled scoring Devers and leaving runners at second and third.
Moronta then walked Lehto to load the bases.
John Curtiss then got the ball, and he quickly put out the fire getting Carson Kelly to hit a grounder to shortstop Adieny Hechavarria who started a short, to home to first double play.
