The Rangers return home for a threegame weekend series against the California Angels that begins on Friday the 13th.

The Rangers placed RP Charlie Hudson on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 10, 1973.

After a leadoff single in the bottom of the sixth, Lloyd Allen took the mound for the Angels.

After a throwing error put the leadoff runner on second in the bottom of the eighth, Ron Perranoski took the mound for the Angels and prevented the Rangers from increasing the lead.

Merritt retired the side in order in the top of the ninth to put the Rangers back above .500.
