NL Player of the Week - Randy Bradley, 2B, Boston (34-R .316/.344/.573) Had 10 hits with 2 2b, 2 HR, 2 BB, 1 SB, 6 R and 6 RBI in 5 G His 2nd award this year
PCL Player of the Week - Qian Duan, 3B, Milwaukee (29-R .273/.318/.384) Had 10 H (15 AB), 0 XBH, 0 BB, 1 R and 4 RBI in 5 G (4 GS) He is the only Chinese player in the Majors. There are 5 in the minors.

April 30 - Carl Dover (25-L) of New York pitched a 4 hit shutout at Detroit. He walked no one and struck out 9. He is now 2-3 with a 3.38 ERA. New York won, 8 to 0.
May 1 - Thurman Franklin (25-R) of Los Angeles struck out 13 at home versus Milwaukee in 6.1 innings to set a new high water mark in the Major Leagues. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks and did not get a decision. The Angels lost, 4 to 2, in 10 innings.
May 2 - RF Dave Mancini (26-L) of Pittsburgh had 4 hits, scored a run, had 4 RBI and threw a runner out at 3rd at Boston. The Pirates won, 10 to 7.
May 2 - CF Ricky Eden (33-R) of New York had 3 hits with a double and a home run at Chicago. He scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI. His home run came with a man on base in the top of the 12th inning. The Giants won, 9 to 7, in 12 innings.
May 4 - Gene Reynolds (24-R) of Chicago pitched a 3 hit shutout at Baltimore. He walked 2 and struck out 3. It was his first win of the season and he is now 1-5 with a 4.10 ERA. The Cubs won, 8 to 0.
May 5 - Kansas City lost their $2.5 million closer for the season when Hersh Veilleux (31-L) tore his rotator cuff.
May 6 - Russ Lanier (25-R) of Dallas pitched 10 shutout innings at home versus San Diego, but did not get a win. He allowed 6 hits and 3 walks and struck out 7. Dallas lost, 1 to 0, in the 11th, when the Padres' PH Rick Haynes (34-L) hit a home run off reliever Jose Uria (24-R). It was Uria's third loss of the season in relief.
May 6 - 3B David Aytes (29-R) of Los Angeles had 3 hits with 2 home runs and 6 RBI at home against Denver. The Angels won, 8 to 1.
May 6 - CF Danny Santos (30-R) of Baltimore had 4 hits with a double and a home run at home against Chicago. He scored 2 runs and had 4 RBI. The Orioles won, 10 to 6.
May 6 - SS Brad Perreault (24-L) of Pittsburgh had 3 hits with a double and a triple, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI at New York. The Pirates won, 10 to 0.
Random Fact of Week: After hitting 5 home runs in our first 21 games, the Beavers have exploded for 11 in our last 8 games. We are still last in the PCL in home runs, but we are now tied with Houston and AHEAD of Baltimore (13) of the National League!
