Walkers news: April 9 -- St. Louis 11, Twin Cities 3

Record: 7-2, 1st, 1.5 GA Des Moines and Cedar Rapids
St. Louis poured across five runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back in an 11-3 rout of Twin Cities at the Metrodome (1996).
The River Walkers banged out seven hits in that first inning off Snow Cats starter Mack Anglin, who exited with one out still to go in the inning.
Alek Thomas led off the game with a single and scored on a sacrifice fly.
After that, Andrew Benintendi made it 2-0 with a double.
A J.T. Realmuto single made it 3-0.
Larry Ernesto tripled for the second straight game, also driving in a run.
A Romy Gonzalez single made it 5-0.
It's lead shrunk to 5-3, Ernesto made it 7-3 when he hit a two-run homer off Mike Shawaryn in the top of the third.
Benintendi smacked a three-run homer off Matt Harvey in the sixth as the advantage grew to 10-3.
Benintendi finished the game 3 for 5 with a double, a homer, two runs scored and four RBIs.

Ernesto was 2 for 5 with a triple, a homer, two runs scored and three RBIs.
Walkers starting pitcher Steven Brault (1-1) worked 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on six hits.
Phil Maton (2.1 IP) and John Curtiss (1.0) combined to complete the game.
