Driftwood
In 1938, the towns of East and West Driftwood, located in central Massachusetts, came together to alleviate some of the hardships of The Great Depression through a baseball series played daily through the month of July. The towns had long been rivals but the mayors at the time felt that this was a way to unify in the face of hardship without taking away the historical competitiveness between the two towns.
