May 21 - 3B Tony Cruz (24-R) of Montreal went 4 for 4 with a triple and a home run, scored 2 runs and had 4 RBI at home versus Boston, but the Expos lost, 10 to 8.
May 22 - Bob Showalter (27-R) of Brooklyn pitched a 5 hit shutout at home versus Baltimore. He walked 1 and struck out 12. At bat, he was 2 for 2 with a double and a home run. It is his 3rd shutout of the season. He is now 4-1 with a 1.79 ERA in 9 starts. The Dodgers won, 4 to 0.
May 22 - Dick Smoke (25-R) of Toronto pitched a 3 hit shutout at home versus New York. He walked 1 and struck out 2. He is now 5-3 with a 3.36 ERA in 11 starts. The Blue Jays won, 4 to 0.
May 22 - Chuck Pitre (33-R) of Pittsburgh pitched a 3 hit shutout at home versus Detroit. He did not walk a batter and struck out 4. At bat, he had 2 of his team's 5 hits. He is now 3-5 with a 4.00 ERA in 11 starts. The Pirates won, 1 to 0.
May 24 - C Dennis Allen 26-R) of Dallas went 5 for 6 with a double and scores a run at home versus Oakland. The Eagles won, 3 to 2.
May 24 - Dennis James (27-R) of Cincinnati pitched a 2 hit shutout at Baltimore. He walked 1 and struck out 4. He is now 4-4 with a 3.15 ERA in 10 starts. The Reds won, 6 to 0.
May 25 - CF Dan McKee (23-R) of Seattle went 5 for 6 with a double and a walk, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBI at Minnesota. The Rainiers won, 15 to 2. They had 20 hits.
May 26 - Dallas lost 1B Ray Adkins (31-R) for the season with a broken elbow. He was batting .389/.442/.650 in 180 AB with 8 HR and 37 RBI. He was leading the PCL in BA.
May 26 - 1B Tony Pena (33-R) of Chicago hit 2 home runs, drew a walk, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBI at home versus Washington. The Cubs won, 8 to 3.
May 27 - Oscar Navarro (26-R) of San Antonio pitched a 3 hit shutout at Los Angeles. He walked 1 and struck out 2. At bat, he had a hit. He is now 3-6 with a 4.38 ERA in 12 starts. The Missions won, 6 to 0.
May 27 - Bobby Wolfe (24-R) of San Diego pitched a 4 hit shutout at home versus Kansas City. He walked 5 and struck out 3. He is now 5-4 with a 3.54 ERA in 9 starts. The Padres won, 2 to 0.
May 27 - Manny Lopez (28-R) of Cleveland pitched a 1 hit shutout at Boston. He walked 2 and struck out 4. The hit was a 1 out single in the 9th. He is now 2-3 with a 3.31 ERA in 7 starts. The Indians won, 2 to 0.
