Rust and its effect is very individual and transitory. IMO there should be no way one can see it, nor should it be a hard number in game. Some players need 4-5 AB to be ready others may need 3-4 games but it seems to me that those who need longer may not have "skill rust" but likely need physical action ie muscle stretching via game play. Those who are ready quickly may be naturally loose all the time. I saw this playing and watching many sports in my younger days.
