Hello OOTP friends,

I've begun a journey toward generating a historical league (beginning, probably, in the 1890s) as a pet project I've thought about for years now.

I have a concept draft prepared as a working document.

I am looking for more members of the Founding Committee to help guide and draft this long-term endeavor.

This is not a casual league design, and will take a lot of love, sweat, patience, and collaboration to draw into reality. Below is the introduction to the concept draft:

League Mission Statement: To provide an immersive outlet in a historical setting for creative GMs looking to build a collaborative baseball history through the ages.

League Philosophy: This is an immersive writing league with a focus on lore, tradition, collaboration, and storylines. The spirit of this league is imaginative and player-friendly, but also highly traditional and competitive. This league expects high levels of consideration and respect from its GMs--both for the fellow players and the rules/bylaws of the league. Likewise, the league expects active participation from its members, both in running their teams and engaging the community. This is a collaborative effort to generate an alternate baseball history, one story at a time.

League Tenets

GMs will be highly screened and vetted to ensure the proper fit for the dynamic of the league.

GM membership will be reviewed and “renewed” or “terminated” by the Board at the conclusion of each season.

A particularly high level of professionalism and respect is expected from all members of the league.

The Commissioner’s decision is final in all disputes. General decisions will be left to the Board.

Changes to the League will be handled in-game, as a storyline, with GMs and the Board voting.

The Board and Commissioner will insert “Storyline” events each season to add immersion/writing opportunities--and as a vehicle to generate changes.
