After going 3-4 on their home stand, the Rangers travel to Minnesota for a four game series against the Twins. Minnesota has lost 3 of its last 4. The Twins have the third best team OBP in the American League. In the bottom of the first, Killebrew hit an RBI single.

In the top of the second, Kubiak's attempt to get an RBI single was thwarted when Tovar three Howard out at home as he was trying to score from second. The very next at bat, however, Ford did score from second on a throwing error by Braun.

After three: Texas 1 Minnesota 1.

In the bottom of the fourth, Woodson put the Twins back in front with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the fifth, Carew hit an RBI triple and then scored himself on a Thompson single.

After six: Minnesota 4 Texas 1.

In the top of the seventh, a run-scoring double by Hand cut into the Twins lead.

After Carew led off the bottom of the seventh with a single, Jim Panther took the mound for the Rangers. The Twins loaded the bases with two out. Woodson then knocked in a pair with a single, giving the Twins pitcher 3 RBI for the game. Tovar addedan RBI single.

In the top of the ninth, Maddox hit an RBI single. The Rangers then loaded the bases with two out. Nelson then flew to center to end the game.

The Twins pounded out 13 hits in the win.

Final score: Minnesota 7 Texas 3.
