Hal Baumgardner leads off with a hit and then Tom Borden doubles to center and Baumgardner scores... 2 to 1, Padres. Ernesto Najarro flies out to right and Borden tags up and beats the throw to 3rd. Roger Rojas loops their 9th hit of the game to left and Borden scores... 3 to 1, Padres. The Bullpen is up. Mike Fahy hits a home run to left center.... 5 to 1, Padres.

New Pitcher: Dave Perez (25-L). Frank Birch takes a 3-2 pitch for ball 4... P Jim Stroughter bunts him to 2nd. Hal Baumgardner grounds a hit to center and Birch stops at 3rd. Tom Borden grounds into a force at 2nd, 6-4, and Birch scores. 6 to 1, Padres.

Top of the Seventh:
With 1 out, Pablo Mateo lines a hit to right. Dennis Webb grounds a double over the 1st base bag. Dave Lesley grounds a hit to left and both runners score! 6 to 3, Padres.
