Pinch hitter Jim Mason brought all three home with a double. Eddie Fisher took the mound for the White Sox. Pinch hitter Lenny Randle hit an RBI double. Sudakis brought Randle home with a double. Pinch hitter Joe Lovitto followed with an RBI single. Madlock the hit a two run homer. With two out, Mason, in his second at bat of the inning, hit a three-run homer. Steve Kealey took the mound for the White Sox. The Rangers scored fourteen runs in the inning.

In the top of the seventh, Larry Biittner hit a two-out RBI single.
In the bottom of the seventh, the White Sox loaded the bases with two out. May cleared the bases with a double.
In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on first and one out, Dick Bosman took the mound for the Rangers.
In the top of the ninth, Luis Alvarado took the mound for the White Sox.
