Getting a good performance from first baseman Dave Kingman, the San Francisco Giants defeated the Montreal Expos, 5-4. Kingman was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Giants. John W Morris, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. San Francisco has now won 3 in a row.

Kingman had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run off RHP Mike Torrez. The Giants went on to win.
