I had a bit of extra money before opening day, so overpaid to sign a SP for $20 mil.

Of course he tears a UCL in spring training. Out for year.

Since it was only a 1 year contract, would releasing him and paying the 20 mil do anything good or bad for me? Would it better keeling him on the DL for year (wasn't planning on resigning him either way.)

Wears my insurance to pay for it lol. Anyway , just wondering.
