Walkers news: June 17 -- St. Louis 3, Quad City 2

Record:39-26, 2nd, 2 GB Des Moines
Nicky Delmonico's two-out single off Mike Fiers scored Michael Conforto with what was the game-winning run in the 10th inning as St. Louis completed a three-game sweep of Quad City at Fenway Park.
With the sweep, St. Louis drew within two games of first-place Des Moines heading into a four-game series against the Harvesters in Des Moines.
Fiers retired the first two batters in the 10th but trouble started with a two-out walk to Conforto.

A wild pitch moved Conforto to second, and led to an intentional walk to the red-hot Rhys Hoskins.
Delmonico followed with what proved to be the game-winning hit.
Keone Kela retired the Thunder in the ninth inning to complete his second 1-2-3 inning and earn his first win of the season.
Kela, who has struggled mightily with injuries since August of last season, has looked strong in his last three outings since returning from the disabled list pitching allowing no runs and just one hit.
The River Walkers got their first two runs in the top of the second when Delmonico connected for a two-run homer off Quad City starter Hector Perez.
Quad City tied it in the fourth against Walkers starter Trevor Bauer. Perez, the pitcher, chased home both the runs with a bases-loaded single.
Bauer wasn't great but did well enough, going five innings giving up two runs on five hits.
He was followed to the mound by four relievers -- Phil Maton (1.0 IP), Reyes Moronto (1.2), Josh Lindgren (0.1) and Kela -- as Quad City didn't get on the scoreboard again.
