In the top of the first, it was Sharon with an RBI single.

Rain began to fall in the top of the third.

In the bottom of the third, Bradford tied the score with a solo shot. The rain stopped one batter later.

After three: Texas 1 Kansas City 1.

In the bottom of the fourth, Kirkpatrick gave the Royals the lead on an infield hit that scored Mayberry from third.

The rain returned in the bottom of the sixth. Mayberry connected on a two run homer.

After six: Kansas City 4 Texas 1.

In the top of the seventh, the Rangers got runners at the corners and nobody out and Roger Nelson took the mound for the Royals. Dave Nelson then grounded into the 6-4-3 to score Kubiak from third.

In the bottom of the seventh, Bradford delivered an RBI double. Patek then brought Bradford home with a double. With a runner on second and nobody out, Pete Broberg took the mound for the Rangers. Otis ended up bringing Patek home from third with a sacrifice fly.

In the top of the eighth, the Royals committed their third error of the game. One batter later the rain stopped again.

In the bottom of the eighth, Schaal had an RBI single.

Final score: Kansas City 8 Texas 2.
