If youre playing with the default settings, change it up a bit. No overall ratings, change the eval settings to only stats, change scouting accuracy to low or even very low, turn on draft pick trading, etc.
Maybe add the independent leagues if you havent already and create a US Independent Association with a playoff between all of the league winners at the end.
