Walkers news: May 12 -- Kansas City 7, St. Louis 1

Record: 18-16, 2nd (Tied/w. Des Moines), 3.5 GB Kansas City
Kansas City pounded St. Louis starting pitcher Trevor Hildenberger for seven runs on 12 hits over 5-1 innings to pave the way for a 7-1 win at Kansas City Municipal Stadium (1969).
With the win, the Pit Masters took the final two games of the three-game series.
Kansas City broke on top 2-0 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second.

Freddy Galvis and pitcher Trevor Oaks did the honors with RBI singles.
That advantage doubled in the third inning, Yasmani Grandal driving in the first run on a fielder's choice and then Galvis connecting on a run-scoring double for his second RBI of the game.
The game became a blowout in the sixth, the bulk of it coming on a three-run homer from Greg Jones off Hilgenberger.
Oaks was impressive on the mound, with five shutout innings. He allowed five hits while striking out five and walking one.

He improved to 5-1 on the season with the win.
