Fernando Vargas defended his IBO JMW strap for the 7th time with a dramatic KO in the 15th round over Sechew Powell. Powell had out punched the champ 356 to 240 & was ahead on 2 of the 3 cards: 134-130, 132-131 & 131-132.

With the victory, Vargas moves to 30-3 with 22 KO's & Powell falls to 17-2 & 9 KO's.
