Im terrible with colors. I think these have been shared before, but here are two sites I use for color assistance.
This one is great for finding colors that work well together. in the middle left box with the sliders, just enter the color code you want to use as your main color, and hit the box next to it. Then on the right, it shows what colors work well with it. You can change the drop down box to select different schemes. I have no idea what they mean... but all the colors work well together.

This is simply a color hex chart. Want to use Gold? Just ctrl-f and search for Gold then take the hex code and paste it into your graphics program.
