The Habs are at home to the Ottawa Senators. (19-29-15) Montreal is 3-1-0 against the Sens and won 3-2 the last time the teams met at the Bell Center.


Ottawa gets the 1st goal, RW Rick Moss's forehand deke beats G Bill Wolfenbarger at 1:24 for his 11th of the season. Montreal gets that back at 4:30 when RW Joey Mariani beats the Sens goalie with a slapshot and his 19th goal of the year. The period ends 1-1 with the shots 11-8 for the Senators.


Montreal had to kill a lengthy 5 on 3 but shortly after the Sens C Jean-Thomas Audy is sent in all alone and he beats Wolfenbarger with his 12th at 10:28 of the 2nd and its 2-1 for Ottawa. Montreal ties it up when RD Steven Thornton sends RW Zach Broderick in on a breakaway and he beats the Sens goalie for his 5th of the year at 11:45. The period ends with the score tied 2-2 and the shots are 23-21 for Montreal.


Montreal gets the 3-2 lead at 14:35 when C Patrick Atkins tips LW Randolph Lott's shot for his 20th of the year for the rookie. Moments later Montreal goes up 4-2 as C Jeff Pilbeam knocks in a rebound at 15:53 for his 11th of the season. The Sens get within 1 on the PP as RW Klaus Rossignol gets his 11th of the year at 18:15 and it is now 4-3. Montreal hangs on for a 4-3 win and the final shots are 40-32 for the Habs.

Montreal RD Rinat Sadriyev was the 1st star with his assist. The 28 year old has 2 goals and 14 points with 12 PIMs and a +21 rating in 41 games this year.


Winnipeg Jets C Peter Horvath had 2 goals and 2 assists in a 5-2 win over the Stars. The 22 year old has 13 goals and 56 points with 48 PIMs and a +15 rating in 63 games. Horvath was nominated for the Best Defensive Forward Award in 2002.
