Big Changes in Baseball!

March 5, 1872
The 1872 annual meeting brought news of the new structure for the NABBP. The biggest change to note for all teams will be the use of the wrist in pitching is now legal. This could really shake up who's the top pitchers in the league today.
The teams competing has also changed drastically. For those who don't know the Kekiongas folded due to many of the players leaving for Baltimore. These players have been accommodated as new this year will be the Canaries, located in Baltimore. Sadly, due to financial troubles the Forest Citys of Rockford will not be returning. In news that many expected, the White Stockings will be forced to miss the season as they work to repair their stadium and their city.
The new teams this year don't stop in Maryland. Two new teams in Brooklyn join the league: the Eckfords and Atlantics. The capitol will also be gaining a team with the addition of the Nationals. Rounding out the field will be the new team from Middletown, Connecticut called the Mansfields.
Expect more games this year, too, as many teams are slated to play upwards of 50 games in hopes of the title.
The season will start April 18th this year with the the Canaries @ Olympics.
