PREMIER LEAGUE HOCKEY NEWS

Today's Scores:
Colorado Eagles 3 - 3 Vancouver Giants
Ottawa Nationals 2 - 3 Toronto Aces
Calgary Mustangs 5 - 6 San Francisco Arrows
Michigan Stags 2 - 6 Seattle Nightmare
Chicago Cougars 2 - 5 Quebec Nordiques

Game of the Day
Manitoba Vikings 2 - 3 New York Centrals
Central Park Rink, New York

In a thriller today at the Duck Pond, the Centrals just narrowly had the better of the Manitoba Vikings, giving the Centrals a much needed win as the season starts to knuckle down.

Nicky Jephcott opened the scoring in the first period with the Centrals' captain netting a goal from a Leo Zanier assist. It took just 37 seconds for the Vikings to equalize, however, as John Eyar netted one before almost immediately getting sin binned for roughing and killing any momentum the Vikings had gained.

The second period saw three penalties go against New York but it wasn't until Ryan Huddy of the Vikings was sent off in the 20th minute that either powerplay finally succeeded: just six seconds into the penalty, Samuel Brazeau scored off a Jephcott pass that keeps Nicky in touch with the Hjerpe Trophy.

The third saw Randolph Gray of the Vikings level things up, but just 1:51 into overtime Mike Ames of the Centrals scored, giving Leo Zanier his second assist of the night and giving the Centrals the win. The Centrals stay at home tomorrow for a game against Lehigh Valley while the Vikings have until Thursday before they play New England in Hartford.
