PREMIER LEAGUE HOCKEY NEWS

- MYERS OUT FOR A MONTH, ACES INJURY TROUBLES
- SIX GAMES - SCORES AND NEWS

First to Toronto where the Aces confirmed a month is the likely recovery time for left winger Chris Myers. Myers has scored 3 points in 6 starts so far this season.

Game of the Day:
Lehigh Valley Phantoms 5 - 3 Michigan Stags
Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids

The Stags and the Phantoms met in Michigan tonight and the Phantoms became the first team to hold the Stags to an outright loss this season. Etienne Houle led the Phantoms with a goal and an assist, both in the first period. After the Phantoms got up 2-0, it was always a game of catch up for the Stags.

In the second period an unassisted goal to Larry Walton (his fourth this season) put the Stags within one, but Brayden Fraser got it back within five minutes. John Hamilton narrowed the gap again to 3-2 in a carefully set up play that saw him score directly in front, but Jakub Palka then had the lead at 2 again before the end of the period. The teams exchanged goals in the third period once more, but the Stags never levelled the score, and the Phantoms ran out comfortable winners thanks to an empty-netter to Tobias Fagerstrom.

Elsewhere in the league, the Aces brought the Nightmare's dream run to an end with a 4-2 win at home. St. Paul got back on their winning ways with a 2-1 win over the Giants, while San Francisco's home fans were disappointed with another setback, this one a 6-2 loss to Montreal. Charlottetown were schooled by a resurgent Eagles outfit, a pair of goals to Sebastien Thompson being the highlight of a 7-3 win for Colorado. And finally, in Chicago, the Vikings were too good for the inconsistent Cougars, who went down 4-2.
