You either haven't reached that point yet, or you have selected the option at the start of the game to have players enter the game at age 17 (which means they will be assigned to the teams as they were signed/drafted) with no drafts. In other words, if you selected that, you will be automatically assigned Eric Chouinard since it's who the Habs picked in the first round in 1998. You will not have the opportunity to change your team's fate with a better draft choice.
