Veteran third baseman Jamison Bash finished the 1974 season- a season in which he hit 34 HR's and put up 5.5 WAR, his best season since his 1971 MGL MVP season, when he played for the Denver Brewers- just 1 HR shy of 300 for his career.
And certainly nobody thought it would take until late June of the 1975 season for Bash to join the 300 club. But he finally made it yesterday.
Bash joins Nate Bennett, who has hit 350 HR's, as the only other WPK player in the 300 club. With Bennett still going strong at age 35 and Bash barely playing at age 39, Bash is unlikely to get anywhere near Bennett on the all-time list. But for now at least, Jamison Bash experienced at least one last moment of glory as a WPK player.
