The Colt .45s will conclude this home stand with a three game series against the San Francisco Giants. The Colt .45s are 1-3 so far on this home stand and just 2-14 this season at home. The Giants are finishing up a nine game road trip that they are 3-3 on so far.

In the bottom of the first, despite not getting a hit, the Colt .45s got the game's first run as Amalfitano scored from third when Aspromonte grounded out to first. Larker followed with an RBI single.

Shantz was perfect through three.

After three: Houston 2 San Francisco 0.

Alou led off the top of the fourth by drawing a four pitch walk to end the perfect game. Pagan followed with an RBI double to end the no-hitter as well.

In the top of the fifth, O'Dell tied the game with an RBI double. Alou put the Giants in the lead with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Colt .45s loaded the bases with two out. Aspromonte then grounded to short to end the inning.

In the top of the sixth, with runners at first and second and nobody out, Dean Stone took the mound for the Colt .45s. Kuenn would bring in a run with a sacrifice fly.

After six: San Francisco 4 Houston 2.

Jim Golden took the mound for the Colt .45s in the top of the eighth.

In the bottom of the ninth, Pendleton hit an RBI double to make it a one run game. With the tying run at second and nobody out, Stu Miller took the mound for the Giants. Pinch hitter Merritt Ranew tied the game with a run-scoring triple. With bases loaded and two out, Aspromonte singled to send the home town fans away happy.

Final score: Houston 5 San Francisco 4.
