Playing the 1995 season as the Braves and offered to extend Steve Avery's contract. He said he wanted 3.6m for 1 year. I offered the same amount for 8 years. He said he wanted more money. I offered 4m, 5m and even 6m for 8 years and he kept saying he wanted more money. I offered 4m for 1 year and he accepted. Seems like he should have been telling me he wasn't happy with the contract length.
