Walkers news: May 22 -- St. Louis 7, Quad City 5

Record: 25-15, 2nd, 1 GB Des Moines
St. Louis scored at least one run in each of the first five innings, paving the way for a 7-5 win over Quad City at Busch Stadium.
The victory was the sixth in a row for the River Walkers.
The Thunder took leads of 2-0 and 3-1, only to see the Walkers rally on both occasions.

St. Louis took the lead in the bottom of the third when Tucker Barnhart connected for a two-run single off Thunder starting pitcher Franklin Perez, putting it up 4-3.

Rhys Hoskins connected for a two-run homer off Perez in the fourth, expanding that advantage to 6-3.

Nicky Delmonico doubled off reliever Matt Ruppenthal in the fifth inning, and scored on a single by pitcher Trevor Bauer, which included an error by left fielder Derek Fisher.
Quad City scored a pair of runs in the top of the sixth, pulling to within 7-5.
But four relievers -- Bobby Poyner (0.2 IP), Daniel Hudson (0.2), Phil Maton (0.1) and Jake Diekman (1.2) - combined to shutout the Thunders over the final 3.1 innings to seal the win.
St. Louis starter Trevor Bauer wasn't at his sharpest but still managed to go 5.2 innings giving up five runs on seven hits.
