In the bottom of the seventh, King gave the Rangers the lead with a solo home run.

Casey Cox took the mound for the Rangers in the top of the eighth. With a runner on first and one out, Jim Shellenback took the mound for the Rangers.

Rain began to fall in the bottom of the eighth. With two out, the game went into a 55 minute rain delay.

Shellenback pitched a perfect ninth to complete the sweep of the Yankees.
