Personally, I use Wordpad rather than Notepad. I've also told Windows that I wanted .lsdl files associated with Wordpad. That means I can open a schedule file by double-clicking on it and it'll open automatically in Wordpad, and I can save the file from Wordpad and it'll respect the .lsdl extension.
