Why does game ignore my lineups/depth charts?

I have tried everything I can think of but after playing just one stupid computer game, the AI insists on making its own lineup and depth charts all over again.
For example:
I have Lou Brock in LF and Clemente in RF. I also have Rico Carty who is playing LF vs LHPs.

For whatever reason, the AI insists on putting Brock in RF and starting Carty vs all pitchers the very next day!

Additionally, I have 5 good starting pitchers! I try to make it a strick 5 man rotation, but nooooooooooooooooooooo, it always reverts back to a 4 man rotation.

And the final frustration is that I have Lindy McDaniel as my closer. He is rated a 78/80. For whatever reason, the game makes him a middle man, even though he is listed on the roster as a "CL".

Can someone tell me WTF is going on? I'm in my 7th year, I've lost two one game playin/playoff games and this was my best shot.

Two last things: Last year, I made the 20 team league into 4 divisions. Why wasn't this year 4 divisions, also? Anyway I can perpetuate it?

And, since I already autoplayed a month trying to fix that wacky lineup/rotation/reliever screwup, is there any way to reset this season start over, and play with 4 divisions?

Thx
